I went to a sale a few weeks back. While I was outside looking at an antique table, the lady tells me that she has an antique buffet inside of her house that she wanted to sell. I absolutely LOVE buffets and I have been dying to get my hands on another one. She was getting ready to move, and needed to downsize. I immediately fell in love with this piece, and knew that I could make her even more beautiful! This is the picture that I took of the buffet inside of the woman's home. I had to take a picture to text my husband and warn him that I was bringing home
MORE furniture. He has already jokingly threatened to divorce me if I bring home more furniture, but he can deal with it. :)
I bribed my 15 year old son with a ice cream shake, if he would help me haul her to the van, and help me load her. This was quite the challenge, and I was huffing and puffing all the way. She WAS HEAVY!
I knew right away that I wanted to paint her body and sand her top down to bare wood. The sanding part was the hardest and took me several hours just to finish the top. I think it was worth it!
Here is the "before" shot, taken at the sale.
